If you have found this site through Google and are not familiar with Little Rock, it is the capital of Arkansas and former home of one president and one recent presidential candidate. We are the little state that can and does! And soon, we will be a hot bed of entrepreneurial activity.
Arkansas is known as the Natural State and is home to one of the largest National Mountain Biking parks in America. If you are in town and want to ride, contact me! It is also home to little companies like Alltel, Dillard’s, and Wal-Mart. Unfortunately, we are not currently home to a “Google” but I plan to change that.
I partnered with SpringStage because they believe as I do: In today’s hyper-connected world, Silicone Valley is more a state-of-mind than a physical location. Exciting things can and are happening everywhere!
I believe in entrepreneurship: You are either a spectator or a participant. You can lament the lack of jobs and opportunity or you can create Jobs and opportunity.
I define entrepreneur as that breed of people who can find and exploit opportunities where others see none.
Given the turbulence in the market place and in America, now IS the BEST time to be an entrepreneur. All the old models are failing (that is good for you)… The net result is: opportunity costs are very low. Because old products and business models are not working, people might just be willing to try your product or service. In times of great change entrepreneurs find great opportunity.
My goal is to encourage, highlight, and grow my local community. I look forward to sharing my experiences with my own start up: MeritBuilder.com. I am most excited about learning from the community and demonstrating that Silicone Valley has a new address… Anywhere USA. Of course, for me anywhere is Little Rock Arkansas.
